HISTORY

The Institute of Public Policy and Sustainable Development (IPPDS) is a special agency of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) with management and executive functions over the Institutional Program of Research Development, Teaching, Extension e Services in Human and Applied Social Sciences, focusing on Public Policies and Sustainable Development.

The group of IPPDS researchers and technicians adopts an interdisciplinary approach with a view to promoting greater connection between the various fields of knowledge studied at the UFV Science Centers and its postgraduate programs.

The setting up of the IPPDS is considered fundamental for connecting its social scientists with researchers from other fields of all UFV Science Centers, and for promoting the EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE and the FORMATION OF PARTNERSHIPS with national and international centers of excellence, which operate or are interested in the theme of public policy and sustainable development.

Mission

Promote progress and innovation in both theoretical and practical areas of public policy and sustainable development, through interdisciplinary activities of teaching, research and extension.

Vision

Become a national reference in its areas of operation and a standard of excellence in research, and connect with other national and international centers which develop activities in similar areas.

Goals

The general objective of the IPPDS is to combine efforts, integrate values and think in the long term, aiming at scientific and technological development and the training and qualification of human resources in the areas of public policies and sustainable development. subordinated to this, we have the following specific objectives:
