AKSSAM, Adapting Knowledge for Sustainable Agriculture and Access to Markets, is a project that seeks to improve the access of family farmers to technologies and knowledge acquired at the Federal University of Viçosa and other partner institutions. In addition, it aims to increase the productivity of these farmers and improve according to the conditions of market access. The project operates in Latin America and the Caribbean and is especially interested in family farming in the context of the Northeastern Semiarid.
Its operationalization occurs through eleven strategic collaboration projects, chosen by public notice, which will act in direct contact with the beneficiary family farming communities.
AKSAAM is a project of the International Fund for Agricultural Development – IFAD, and promoted by the Institute of Public Policies and Sustainable Development – IPPDS, linked to the Federal University of Viçosa – UFV. More information is available on the project website.
his project seeks to catalyze and facilitate the identification and realization of systemic opportunities for sustainable economic diversification in certain regions of the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás in Brazil, through intersectoral partnerships and the establishment of a “backbone” organization in order to facilitate the design and implementation of socio-economic and environmental programs.
Its construction is made from the definition of the geographical space of activity in the two states, starting with an in-depth study on the baseline to characterize these regions with a focus on economic activities and social indicators. Then, a diagnosis of the opportunities identified is carried out in order to design long-term development strategies.
The Roadmap for the Ordering of Socio-Economic Development in Minas Gerais and Goiás is a project financed by Anglo American, carried out by the Institute of Public Policies and Sustainable Development – IPPDS, linked to the Federal University of Viçosa – UFV.
